Slaters Electricals have recently completed an 11kV switchgear replacement project on an urgent turn around for a global manufacturer in the food and agriculture sector.
When one of their key production facilities in the UK suffered a catastrophic failure to one of their onsite 11kV switchboards they turned to Slaters for assistance. Slaters provided a timely, temporary solution in the first instance to allow production to continue with minimal disruption.
The temporary fix allowed the client time to consider various options for the total replacement of the 19 section switchboard. With time scale being the main driver, the client opted for a like for like refurbished option from Slaters, with the replacement switchboard being supplied within 4 weeks from initial contact.
Acceptable shutdown times were agreed and over a 5 day window the failed equipment was removed, and the replacement installed and commissioned, inclusive of associated cable works, prior to the busy Christmas production period.
